APPLICATION PROCEDURES

Applicants will apply for acceptance into the evangelism certification program by:

PASTORS TRACK APPLICATION PROCEDURES

Pastor’s applying for certification in the Pastor’s Track will need to submit the following items:

A total of 15 certification hours can be earned at each Annual Seminar on Church Growth and Development, AME Church.

An additional 10 certification hours can be earned for local church evangelism work verified by the Presiding Elder

Pastor’s Track Independent Study

The following courses will be offered for approved independent study:

Spiritual Formation The Plan of Salvation Jesus, The Cornerstone
Foundations of Cross-Culture Ministry Faith Sharing Doctrine of Sin
Doctrine of Salvation Old & New Testament Survey Central Christian Doctrines

Upon review of pastor’s coursework, he/she will receive evangelism certification from the Department of Church Growth and Development, AME Church.

LAITY CERTIFICATION TRACK

Persons applying for Laity evangelism certification will need to submit the following

Laity seeking evangelism certification will need to complete:

A total of 15 certification hours can be earned at each Annual Seminar on Church Growth and Development, AME Church.

An additional 15 certification hours can be earned for local church evangelism work that must be verified by the pastor of the local church.

Five (5) certification hours will be earned for an evangelism practicum approved by the Executive Director of the Department of Church Growth and Development AME Church.

Five (5) certification hours will be earned for an evangelism project approved by the Executive Director of the Department of Church Growth and Development AME Church.

Laity Certification Independent Study

The following courses will be offered for approved independent study:

The Christian Challenge Communicating the Gospel  
The 21st Century Media Ministry Marketing the Local Church for Evangelism  
Presence Evangelism Street Ministry-Basic  
Spiritual Formation Doctrine of Sin and Salvation  

Each student must demonstrate of mastery of course content before course completion is accomplished.

Each student MUST BE fully engaged in local church evangelism ministry, and complete approved practicum and projects in order to receive certification from the Department of Church Growth and Development AME Church.
